Visit To Melbourne, Victoria

Patrick and I flew to Melbourne to help my mum pack up her house and then drive her to Sydney where she will now be living.

We wanted to stop by The National Gallery of Victoria so that we could see the Goblet decorated by William Beilby around 1765. From Southern Cross to Flinders Station, we could not help but remark how Melbourne appeared to us as amalgamation of Edinburgh, Washington and New York. A fusion of classic architecture and modern materpieces. Alas, the weather definitely reminded us of Portland!

We spent hours looking for the glass but were distracted by masterpieces by the likes of Monet to the marvels of contemporary works by Ipousteguy. We finally found the Beilby glass enameled by the legendary William Beilby.
